Top 5 UVA Basketball Jerseys

5. 2006 Nike - Orange

The first installment of the Nike-era uniforms were solid, but not necessarily up to par with other Nike schools such as Kentucky, Duke and Maryland. Back in the day, Nike featured "Elite" Jerseys. which had different materials and fits for schools that made the Final Four wearing Nike uniforms. The gray warmups were also a nice touch.

4. 1990's Reebok

The 1990’s gave us the reebok era of Virginia basketball, and it wasn’t a bad thing. The hoops program had their uniforms modeled after the football team with the patterns on the collar and trim at the bottom of the shorts. The other good thing about this era was the opportunity to rock the Allen Iverson kicks. (R.I.P. Chris Williams)

3. 2005 And 1

I may get some heat for this one but I was definitely a fan of the And-1 era of Virginia basketball. While it was short-lived, a sudden switch of the clean, classic reebok look matched their head coach’s style. Wild, wacky and ugly at times the uniforms summed up the end of the Pete Gillen era as best they could.

2. 1990's Starter

The glossy orange finish or the matte navy were simple, no logos, no flash. Just classic Virginia. The only drawback was that they were screenprinted, but I remember these hanging off Harold Deane like an oversized Tee shirt.

1. 2019 Nike Elite/Hyper Elite

The 2019-20 version of UVa’s current uniforms will be, for me, the best ones yet. Mostly, because I am a Nike nerd, and this year’s jersey will feature the gold “Elite” logo on the back of the jersey collar. Anybody that knows Nike and college hoops knows that you only receive one of those if you have won a national championship.
