The Season is Almost Here I Can Smell It - London Perrantes
Coming back to Charlottesville:
It had been two years since I had last been on grounds before I was able to get back to Cville this summer. The vibe in JPJ is unmatched and something that I have missed! It was great to be able to see the coaching staff and everyone apart of UVA basketball as well as finally get to see that National Championship trophy with my own two eyes! Felt good to be back home! Although I did eat a lot on my short trip to Cville, I still miss my favorite spot ever Flaming Wok. Somehow we need to get that back in business.
Being in France:
France was a great experience for me. I felt like this past year I learned a lot about myself on and off the court which was probably due to the amount of alone time I had. I was in two small cities in France where English was very foreign so I had to pick up a little French to be able to order food for myself. Although most of the time it was Pizza, Subway and this Italian spot. Those 3 were the rotation for sure.
But being overseas this past year gave me the opportunity to travel and see the world which is something I really love to do. Went to places I thought id never go like Poland and Russia. One of the best things about the year was being able to have my family visit for Christmas. Where we spent the time we had off in between games in Paris and Florence, my favorite city.
The London Tee:
Commemorate one of the iconic celebrations of Virginia Basketball history with the first Locker Room Access Photo Tee.
Where I watched a Final Four & Championship game:
I watched the Final Four in my apartment in Cholet, France. Was a late start but couldn’t miss that for the world. I had to set my alarm for 3:45 am to watch the national championship. My girlfriend and I (also a UVA alumni) watched the Cardiac Hoos finally seal the deal! Game ended around 7 am but it was worth it. I wish I could have been there but I was there in spirit.
But what might have been the best game of the year, Purdue, I had to read text updates from my family and friends because I was on a bus back from an away game. That might be more gut wrenching than actually watching.
NBA Summer League:
Summer League was a great time. Got to see a lot of ex teammates for the first time since the national championship. So it was a big UVA reunion. Got to reminisce on a lot of memories and catch up on everyone's lives.
The second Annual London Perrantes Camp:
My second annual LP camp was a great time. Very last minute but it still was a very productive and fun camp. I love giving back especially with basketball because its my passion. Being in a gym and hosting a camp is so fun to me! I love being able to watch kids grow and hoop because I remember when I was in that same spot going to different camps. It's cool to see it all come full circle.
And stay on the lookout for a Cville camp ?
What's in store for this upcoming season:
I am now in training camp with the Portland Trailblazers to try and work my way on to that team. I'm excited for what’s ahead for myself. Just trying to stay on the grind and let God handle the rest!
